Mrs. Claus's recipe, to make as a family in the Village kitchen.

  • Total time: 20 min
  • Serves 4
  • Easy

Ingredients

Number of people: Serves 4

  • 50 cl milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 packets of vanilla sugar

Preparation stepsTotal time: 20 min

  1. Yolks5 min

Beat the yolks with the sugars until pale. Count the time from when you start, and only move on once you get the result described. Amount for this step: 2 egg yolks.

  2. Milk5 min

Pour in the hot milk in a thin stream, whisking. Count the time from when you start, and only move on once you get the result described.

  3. Thicken5 min

Return to very low heat until it coats the spoon. Do not boil. Set the heat so it simmers or browns without smoking. Stir the bottom once at the start so nothing sticks.

  4. Serve5 min

Warm, in glasses. Plate at the last minute. Taste for salt, pepper and acidity, then serve right away: a hot dish is served hot, a cold dish is served cold.
