Orange and cinnamon tea

4.7/5 (992 reviews)

Mrs. Claus's recipe, to make as a family in the Village kitchen.

  • Total time: 25 min
  • Serves 4
  • Very easy

Ingredients

Number of people: Serves 4

  • 1 l water
  • 1 oranges
  • 1 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves

Preparation stepsTotal time: 25 min

  1. Peel5 min

Remove the orange peel without the white pith. Count the time from when you start, and only move on once you get the result described. Amount for this step: 1 orange.

  2. Infuse10 min

Water, peel, cinnamon and cloves, 10 minutes at a simmer. The liquid should simmer, not boil. Stay close for the first few minutes to set the heat, then check that nothing sticks to the bottom. Amounts for this step: 1 cinnamon stick; 2 cloves.

  3. Honey5 min

Off the heat. Stay off the heat: the residual warmth is enough. Putting the pan back on the heat at this point can split the cream, seize the chocolate or scramble the eggs.

  4. Serve5 min

Strain. Plate at the last minute. Taste for salt, pepper and acidity, then serve right away: a hot dish is served hot, a cold dish is served cold.
