Preparation stepsTotal time: 55 min

  1. Apples5 min

Peel and cut into small cubes. Weigh everything first, then cut pieces of the same size so they cook evenly. Keep the trimmings aside until the end, in case you need to adjust.

  2. Batter5 min

In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar, eggs, flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Stir from the center outward until smooth, with no dry pockets at the bottom. Dust the work surface lightly with flour. If the dough sticks, ten minutes in the fridge firms it up better than extra flour. Amounts for this step: 1 packet of baking powder; 1 tsp cinnamon.

  4. Bake40 min

40 minutes at 170°C. Preheat the oven to the temperature given, with the rack in the middle. Only open the door if the recipe says so: the dish is ready when it is golden and the time is up.
