Mint hot cocoa

4.8/5 (798 reviews)

Mrs. Claus's recipe, to make as a family in the Village kitchen.

  • Total time: 17 min
  • Serves 4
  • Very easy

Ingredients

Number of people: Serves 4

  • 80 cl milk
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • A few mint leaves

Preparation stepsTotal time: 17 min

  1. Mix5 min

In a mixing bowl, combine the cocoa and sugar with a little cold milk. Stir from the center outward until smooth, with no dry pockets at the bottom. Count the time from when you start, and only move on once you get the result described. Amount for this step: 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa.

  2. Heat5 min

Pour in the rest of the milk and heat, whisking. Count the time from when you start, and only move on once you get the result described.

  3. Mint2 min

Infuse for 2 minutes off the heat. Stay off the heat: the residual warmth is enough. Putting the pan back on the heat at this point can split the cream, seize the chocolate or scramble the eggs.

  4. Serve5 min

Remove the leaves. Plate at the last minute. Taste for salt, pepper and acidity, then serve right away: a hot dish is served hot, a cold dish is served cold. Amount for this step: A few mint leaves.
