Mrs. Claus's recipe, to make as a family in the Village kitchen.

  • Total time: 52 min
  • Serves 8
  • Very easy

Ingredients

Number of people: Serves 8

  • 250 g flour
  • 100 g butter
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 eggs
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinches of salt

Preparation stepsTotal time: 52 min

  1. Knead5 min

All the ingredients into one soft ball. Count the time from when you start, and only move on once you get the result described.

  2. Chill30 min

30 minutes. Press plastic wrap onto the surface to stop a skin forming, and chill it away from the back wall of the fridge. This rest is part of the total time.

  3. Cut out5 min

Christmas shapes, 4 mm thick. Weigh everything first, then cut pieces of the same size so they cook evenly. Keep the trimmings aside until the end, in case you need to adjust.

  4. Bake12 min

10 to 12 minutes at 175°C. Preheat the oven to the temperature given, with the rack in the middle. Only open the door if the recipe says so: the dish is ready when it is golden and the time is up.
