  • Intermediate

Ingredients

Number of people: Serves 6

  • 6 apples
  • 80 g sugar
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

Preparation stepsTotal time: 1 hr

  1. Caramel8 min

Sugar and butter in a pan over low heat, until golden. The liquid should simmer, not boil. Stay close for the first few minutes to set the heat, then check that nothing sticks to the bottom.

  2. Apples15 min

Pack them in tightly, rounded side down, 15 minutes on the heat. Set the heat so it simmers or browns without smoking. Stir the bottom once at the start so nothing sticks.

  3. Cover7 min

Lay on the pastry and tuck in the edges. Count the time from when you start, and only move on once you get the result described.

  4. Bake30 min

30 minutes at 180°C. Turn it out as soon as it comes out, using oven mitts. Preheat the oven to the temperature given, with the rack in the middle. Only open the door if the recipe says so: the dish is ready when it is golden and the time is up.
